I just wanted to share something rather minor that I observed: the CF “downloads” page–which offers downloads for things RELATED to CF but not CF itself–has been moved to “within” the CF docs. It used to be offered at https://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads.html, but that now redirects to https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-downloads.html. There’s no change to the content of the page, though you’ll notice now that there’s a left nav bar with all the other pages of the CF docs. See the screenshot below. That may […]
[Originally posted Dec 14, 2021. Updated Mar 30, 2022] If you would like to view the videos from the Adobe ColdFusion Summit 2021, which happened Dec 7-8, you can view the recordings via the CF Portal “videos“. For a time, you could also find them another way, discussed below, but I am finding on Mar 30 2022 that the other way is failing. Perhaps it’s a temporary problem. Anyway, I have updated the post here to clarify above how you CAN […]
Worried about the log4j vuln? What can you do?
I just wanted to offer a quick plug to get folks to please consider filing bugs (and feature requests) at the Adobe site for tracking them, https://tracker.adobe.com. I’ve blogged before about how it can be used for more than most may realize. What I want to share here is that it’s not a “waste of time to bother”.

ColdFusion users should be aware that there were updates released yesterday (Oct 19 2021) to the long-term support (LTS) versions of Oracle Java, versions 8, 11, and 17. To be clear, Java 11 is the LTS version currently supported by CF2021 and CF2018. For more on the newest JVM updates, see the Oracle technotes: Release notes for Java 11.0.13 (for CF2021 and 2018, and older CF versions supporting Java 11) Release notes for Java 8.0_311 (for CF2016 and older versions […]
If you’re still running ColdFusion 9 or 8, you are at grave risk of many vulnerabilities, but most notably is one hitting those who failed to apply a hotfix that Adobe had provided in 2010! A recent spate of ransomware attacks have occurred, hitting such vulnerable servers, as reported in various security industry press. If you may somehow still be running ColdFusion 9 or 8, again there was a fix that Adobe had made available back then (in 2010), as […]
(Posted originally Sept 13, 2021; updated Sept 14, 2021) I’m happy to be able to report that Adobe has finally started putting their ColdFusion Docker images onto Docker hub. It started last week with CF2021, which I found was put there last week. And just hours after I posted this blog entry, those for CF2018 were added. For more info, read on.
