I am trying to download the ColdFusion 2018 installer for Linux from Adobe. After filling out the information form (several times!!) and submitting, I get a message

Sorry, this page is unavailable

and some text in Japanese. Anybody know how to get the installer?

TIA,

Mark L-R

Hi I am trying to download ColdFusion_2018_WWEJ_linux64.bin

I click on: https://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads.html#cf2018productdownloads

And I click on:

Coldfusion 2018 Developer Edition Download Link (https://www.adobe.com/go/trycoldfusion)

It sends me to the download for 2021 instead,

Charlie Arehart The link you provided works but is an old CF2018 version that lacks all recent patches and I want to use it to create a WAR J2EE install so I will need a newer one with all the patches applied.

Could someone provide a link with the latest installer with all the patches already applied for 2018?

Thanks a lot.

A) Adobe no longer offers installers on the public site for anything older than CF2021. This is true with every new release.

(The fact that the downloads page section that you pointed to does still offer a link to it is simply a mistake that they should correct.)

B) Those who have licensed CF2018 are able to get that installer (or whatever version they licensed) at licensing.adobe.com.

C) Even for them, no updated cf2018 installer was created that had updates beyond 4 (from 2019), at least as of this writing. It may yet come, in the 2 years remaining in the support life of cf2018–such as if a new OS comes out, or perhaps when java 17 is due out in the fall.

It will be nice, because yes everyone getting cf2018 today or even months ago needs to  not only do the cf updates but also update the jvm and also the wsconfig.

Does that help you to understand the current situation? I’m only a messenger, of course. I’m not asking whether the situation is satisfactory.

Folks can also look to the venerable cfmlrepo.com site for nearly a cf installers.

Any thoughts on what I offered a few days ago?

UPDATE

Thanks for all the suggestions about browsers and cookies. I have tried various browsers on different OS’s including opening ‘private windows’ but still cannot download from the Adobe site through the ‘normal’ forms and pages. However, I just tried Charlie’s link and it worked as he said. I did not go through the download form but was able to access the link after logging in to adobe.com

Download problem aside, I got help from the Adobe folks at CFSummit so CF2018 w/ service pack 5 is now running just fine on my Ubuntu laptop (kudos to Priyank Shrivastava for his patience and assistance!).

To everyone still complaining of this issue, is it really still happening to you? I just got the Linux 64-bit installer today, after going to the CF product page, choosing to download the trial, filling out the long form, and then the download began (of ColdFusion_2018_WWEJ_linux64.bin).

FWIW, I did it in Chrome on Windows, and I did open a new incognito window just for good measure. I know some here said they could not do it on Linux, but others said they also could not get the Linux installer from a Windows browser. So I’m simply confirming that the latter does work, at least for me.

Finally, if it still fails for some of you, try this: once you HAVE filled out the form and SHOULD then get the download, if it does not work, try going to this link directly:

http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/CSTD/13/linux64/ColdFusion_2018_WWEJ_linux64.bin

This will NOT work if you just go to the URL directly WITHOUT first filling out the form. Actually, I did find that I could get it to work (without the form) if I was at least logged into the Adobe portal, at coldfusion.adobe.com.

Hope that helps some. If it is down to just not working as expected for those on Linux browsers, that would indeed be odd. Someone in that situation may want to check their browser dev tools and its network tab, to see if perhaps some underlying url’s in the page are failing.

It’s not a cookie problem Charlie. I’ve had the same issues with RHEL7. I finally had to use my Mac to download the files.

I would recommend you start by using another browser, to make sure this is not some curious cookie problem. Or if you have no other browser, try clearing your cookies in the current browser.

I am currently experiencing the same problem. Tried across Firefox, Chrome, Brave. Incognito and not. Currently on Fedora 30

Any way to just get a direct link to the installer, or if not what is the next best step.

I’m also experiencing this problem, different browser but on Linux and I cannot get the download. I tried it on Windows as well and no luck.  Any recommendations on a best next step?

Different browser on different system produced the same ‘Sorry, this page is unavailable’ error message (error 403). Same problem no matter which ColdFusion 2018 I select (Linux 64, Windows 64, etc., etc.). I am getting the same error when I try to download ColdFusion Builder 2018 (for Linux 64). This seems like a server problem. Are you able to download from the Adobe site?

M.
