Old installation cleanup.
Hello,
We have upgraded our ColdFusion couple of times, and we are looking the path to uninstall the old versions, however the remove from Windows program has stalled.
Could you please prove the proper way for cleanup/
Thank you,
Pavel
Pavel, when you install CF via its installer (as opposed the zip “install” option added in CF2021), there will be an uninstall folder created within the coldfusion folder (as a sibling to cfusion, config, and jre). In that will be an uninstall.exe (on Windows, or an Uninstall shell script in *nix). Running THAT (for example, C:ColdFusion2021uninstalluinstall.exe) should uninstall that version of CF.
Do beware that before uninstalling CF, one should run the wsconfig tool for that version of CF, if there may be any web server connectors still defined for that CF version in your web server (IIS or Apache). This tool will tell you if so, and it will offer a “remove” button for any that remain. The point here is that while the uninstall of CF does NOT remove those connectors, it WOULD remove the wsconfig tool within that CF version (so you would not be able to easily remove such connectors in the web server as the tool that created them would be gone).
Let us know how things go for you.
