I just wanted to share something rather minor that I observed: the CF “downloads” page–which offers downloads for things RELATED to CF but not CF itself–has been moved to “within” the CF docs. It used to be offered at https://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads.html, but that now redirects to https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-downloads.html.
There’s no change to the content of the page, though you’ll notice now that there’s a left nav bar with all the other pages of the CF docs. See the screenshot below. That may be of some value to those who find this page. FWIW, this move of the page took place last week.
There has been one UI change, in the section at the bottom on Java installers. They now offer a drop-down from which to choose available versions, which I guess is a nice improvement. See the screenshot below. For many folks, their only frequent use of this page is to obtain Java installers, as they change about quarterly. (And Adobe has been on the ball with recent updates to get those posted here within days if not hours of their release by Oracle.)
As an update, until yesterday there was a mistake in that the latest Java versions offered were 11.0.13 and 1.8.0_311, rather than the 11.0.14 and 1.8.0_321 versions that had been offered since they were released in January. As you can see above, that was corrected yesterday, after I brought it to their attention. There are still a couple of problems in that list of JVM versions, and I’ve shared those with Adobe so hopefully they may be corrected before you see this. (I will remove that last sentence when they have been.)
Finally, if you may wonder “but can I download the CF installers from here?“, you cannot. Instead, there’s a section on the page that links you to the page where you can get CF installers.
Again, the “downloads” page discussed here is primarily for downloading things RELATED to CF. And I realize that the “news” I’ve offered about the change in this post is quite minor. Still, there are a lot of things offered on this page, some of which may surprise folks to learn about, so if nothing else let this post be a heads-up for you to check out the page if either you never have or have not for a long time.
