I have an older version of API manager that I am looking to migrate to a new VM running the 2021 version of CF’s API manager.  Is there a way to import my settings from the existing (2016 version) to the new VM?

To EBG and others who may have this question, I have good news.  The Adobe folks have now created a docs page with the steps needed to migrate the API Manager (and the Redis database it depends on) from one machine to another. See:

https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/migrate-redis-data-coldfusion-api-manager.html

If somehow you or anyone reading this may feel that this is not what you sought, you can comment here, or again reach out to them at the support email address I’d offered in my other comment.

To EBG or others, I had opened a support ticket with Adobe asking about this when I commented below. They got back to me today with a one-page doc with some observations related to such a migration. I’ve asked them if they’d post it here (it seemed a rough draft, so they may not yet be ready to post it here or to merge it yet in the docs).

If they don’t offer anything in coming days, you could ask them (cfsup@adobe.com) to share the doc they offered for support ticket 63359. (It may have been updated further since what I’d been given, which is another reason I’m not just posting it.)

That’s a great question. I am not aware that it’s covered in the docs or the installer or UI.

I had someone recently ask a different but related question: how to go about moving the API Mgr implementation from one machine to another. That also is not discussed in the docs.

We will need to hear from Adobe, or from someone who has done either task.
