CFMail Password

It seems in 2018 the password used when sending a CFMail is encoded in the message.

So what if CF was configured with the wrong password. Several hundred messages were queued up, and you realize the issue. You fix the password. Verify the connection is confirmed and go to copy the messages from undelivered to spool to send out.

Nope! They all fail.

Bad idea Adobe.

Mark, while this is indeed a frustrating situation, there’s no feature in CF built-in to solve it. But you CAN solve it. Just create an email with the current correct settings, and be waiting to catch it in the spool folder, then edit it (plain text), grab the password line, and do a global find and replace of that bad value for the good in all the mail files in the undelivr.

But do be careful about just copying ALL files in undelivr to spool: you may have some from days, weeks, or months ago. Probably best to either delete or remove those to another folder, so that they don’t cause confusion in efforts like this.

Let us know if that works.
