The absence of an eCommerce solution for mid-size companies led ten24 Digital Solutions to develop Slatwall, an open-source platform for managing business online. Using Adobe ColdFusion, ten24 is able to rapidly build, deploy, and maintain Java-EE applications with features that rival enterprise-scale eCommerce solutions. The company chose Adobe ColdFusion because its performance, scalability, security, and ability to keep pace with innovation.

“We wanted a feature-rich platform that would allow us to create a more secure, better performing native application with inherent integrations and that didn’t rely on external components,” says Sumit Verma, partner and vice president at ten24. “That’s where Adobe ColdFusion fits in perfectly.”

Slatwall’s features include a framework and APIs to develop eCommerce functions, inventory and product management, order management, and CRM functions. With Adobe ColdFusion, creating those eCommerce functions required a lot less code. Compared with a market-leading solution that has 4.5 million lines of code, Slatwall has fewer than 100,000 lines of code.
