CFFiddle- Code, test, and share your ColdFusion code on the go!

With CFFiddle you can code and share your code snippets with others on the go, anytime and every time. You can use CFFiddle to achieve the following:

Bugs: If you encounter any language-related bug, you can share the snippet in the Adobe tracker, where you had already created the ticket.

Docs: This is a very important area for CFFiddle. All ColdFusion functions and tags will include a link to the appropriate CFFiddle code. We are updating the docs incrementally- functions first, then tags.  If you find any code snippet that is inadequate or incorrect, please create a CFFiddle link for the particular feature/function/code, and send it to the ColdFusion community team. We’ll update the docs and also attribute the new/updated code to you.

Version-specific features: Some features do not work across various versions of ColdFusion. In CFFiddle, you can test features against versions and should you encounter a bug, please create a CCFiddle link and raise a ticket in Adobe tracker.

As always, please keep the feedback coming, and together, let’s contribute to ColdFusion’s success.

I’d like to be able to use CFFiddle to share code samples.  (I’m currently using TryCF.com)

When will non-social media account logins be available?  I would highly prefer to never use Facebook or Twitter or any other third-party when logging in.  ETA?

James,

Thanks for your response.

You can very well share snippets as a non-logged in user. However, we recommend you to sign if, if you want to consume someone else’s project in your workspace, or share a full-fledged CF project with multiple cfms, cfcs, udfs, etc. For spreadsheet or image functions, to create a spreadsheet, you would need to stay logged in as the spreadsheet/file will get saved in a folder in your project.

For example, in the project, spreadsheet functions, there are 40+ spreadsheet functions, which you need to be logged in to consume in your workspace.

Other than a few categories of functions, where external and multiple files are involved, you can very well use and reuse code snippets as an anonymous user.

I’m not sure you answered James’ question. He asked when some other authentication method would be available. I asked the same thing back in April on Twitter and received this response from Anit Kumar “We are exploring other authentication options for #cffiddle, and you will hear back from us, very soon.”.  That was April.

pokypuppy Yes, that’s in plan. We didn’t have “no-login” option available earlier. Now that’s available. I’ll check and get back to you with an ETA if possible, after discussing with the team.

Hi Jeff, as Anit has mentioned, we are exploring other options. For example, Github is very much in the works.

As of now, you can still write and share code as an anonymous user.

Great, thank you. I appreciate the anonymous user capability. I’d definitely prefer to use this as an authenticated tool to save my work/projects.
