Through ColdFusion Builder 3, you would get an automatic notification to apply the Update.
In the month of August 2014, we had
refreshed the update 2 just fixing the bugs arised out of Update 2. Ram has blogged
it as Update 3 mistakenly. It should have been blogged as Refreshed build for
Update 2. Our apologies for the confusion with regard to the update number.
Thanks,
Krishna
I am running 3.0.0 Build: 290701. I have installed the mandatory update, and have updated CF Builder in the past. I receive a notification upon startup that update 3.0.3.292483 is available and when I try to update I am getting:
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=profile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

@WolfShade did you purchase a licensed copy through Adobe? If so, go to Manage Account >> Plans and Products >> View My Orders find CFB 3 click download and you will be taken to the download page for that item. If not, you’re out of luck and will have to use the download manager for now (Use it then uninstall it).
@Steve W,
I am logged on to my Adobe account. There are no options for downloading the CFB3 file.
Someone on another blog offered links that come from “trails3.adobe.com” that worked. Not sure if those include the most recent update, or not, but I’ll take it! 🙂
V/r,
^_^
@Krishna Reddy,
That takes me to a form that when I click the “Download” button will open a popup window trying to get me to install Akamai Download Manager. If I click the “file 1 of 1” link, it prompts me to download a file that contains the Akamai Download Manager.
V/r,
^_^
@WolfShade,
Can click on Try link in the URL: http://www.adobe.com/in/products/coldfusion-builder.html
Whenever I try to download CFB3, I’m pushed to download the Akamai Download Manager. Firstly, on my work computer I don’t have permissions to install anything. Secondly, even if I did, I won’t just because of a lack of trust.
Someone suggested clicking the “download file 1 of 1” link to bypass the DM. Nope. That link is FOR the DM, not CFB3.
Can Adobe please provide a link to download CFB3 _without_ using the Akamai DM?
V/r,
^_^
@Jason,
Is your ColdFusion Builder 3 installed on Mac or on Windows?
If it is on Mac, I would suggest you to download the latest available Builder which has all the fixes in-built. When you click on Help->Check for Updates…, it will show that no updates are available as it has all the fixes. And for the future updates, you would get a notification.
If this doesn’t help please mail me at krishnapATadobeDOTcom
@Roland,
I think you are trying to install the update through Help->Install New Software… You don’t have to do that. Your ColdFusion Builder contains this update. That is why it tell that it is up-to date. ColdFusion Builder automatically finds and shows you a notification at the bottom right corner on every Builder start, if there is a valid update available. However, if you want to check if there is an update on your own, you can click on Help -> Check For Updates menu and follow the on-screen instructions.
Thanks,
Krishna
The update fails. I have installed the mandatory update. I also just installed the version that is currently available on adobe.com.
From the Product Details window:
Version: 3.0.0
Build: 292922
The following “newer” versions are available on your update site, but continuously fail to install:
Adobe ColdFusion Builder 3.0.3.292483
Adobe ColdFusion Builder 3 3.0.3.292483
Adobe ColdFusion Builder 3 Root Files 3.0.3.292483
Adobe ColdFusion Builder Eclipse Features 3.0.3.292483-7e7rF8mFAb6YpPgz0s2Kg8f50195
If you notice, even though my build number is newer (292922 vs 292483) on the installed version, the VERSION number is still at 3.0.0. Could this have something to do with the issue?
At the very least, I shouldn’t be able to even chose updates to install.
Cannot complete the request. See the error log for details.
“Adobe ColdFusion Builder Eclipse Features” will be ignored because a newer version is already installed.
“Adobe ColdFusion Builder” will be ignored because a newer version is already installed.
“Adobe ColdFusion Builder 3” will be ignored because a newer version is already installed.
“Adobe ColdFusion Builder 3 Root Files” will be ignored because a newer version is already installed.
I’d like to try CFB3, but I am still struggling to replicate my Dreamweaver workflow/environment in it.
Basically in my DW site, I have got a Testing Server configured using the option that says connect with “local/network”. It just points to my inetpub folder for the site on my local machine (my local machine runs IIS7 with ColdFusion 11 installed to run on that). This testing server is where I first ‘upload’ my modified web files to make sure they all work correctly.
When I’m happy that my files are working, I’ll then do an FTP upload to the remote production server.
I want to replicate my work workflow in CFB3 like this:
1. Edit local files in my working folder. This folder contains ALL the site’s files.
2. Copy modified files to the local inetpub folder on the computer. Sometimes I like to copy/upload the entire site (rather than just the modified files). I want to do this too!
3. Finally, use FTP to upload the files to the remote server
Can anyone please help me? I’m avoiding CFB3 because it doesn’t look as nice as DW and I don’t understand how to set it up like I want. If I can replicate my DW workflow in CFB3, I really want to give it a chance.
Jason,
Did you ever do the mandatory update?http://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads_updates.html#cbm3
I get this error when it tries to update:

Steve, I just installed this update this morning and I did not need to re-install CFBuilder. Click “Help” > “Check for updates” and it should find it. Note, I did receive a generic warning about “Unsigned content” because I don’t think Adobe property signed the jar files, but I just clicked “OK” and it installed fine.
Glad to see these CFClient fixes. I’ll have to give it a spin and see if it fixes some of the issues I had during this project:
https://github.com/bdw429s/CFClient-Sampler
I would like to see a bit more detail on 3837075 linked above. The description is pretty vague so I’m not sure what scenario is being addressed.
